Week 7: Country Pursuits and Grilling Candidates

With the nice break from the previous week now finished, we at the York Tories are back in full force for another great week of socials.

On Wednesday, in order to commemorate the 10 Year Anniversary of the Hunting Act, and thus reinforce our *ahem* distaste of socialism. To that end, we shall be having a ‘country pursuits’ social this Wednesday. Dressing in tweed or any other sort of countryside dress is encouraged but not mandatory.

On Friday we will be playing host to several PPCs (Prospective Parliamentary Candidates), where we will be staging an event not dissimilar to Question Time.  The candidates in question are:

–Will Goodhand (PPC for Middlesborough South and East Cleveland) – One of our target seats

–Andrea Jenkyns (PPC for Morley and Outwood) – Another target seat

–Kevin Hollinrake (PPC for Thirsk and Malton) – A Conservative safe seat

–Rebecca Coulson – (PPC for City of Durham) – A seat currently held by Labour

If you have a question to ask (it can be on anything, but please keep it within reason), you can email it to us at tories@yusu.org . Let us know if you would like to remain anonymous, or read your question on the night. When considering questions, please bear in mind that all of the candidates are Conservatives, and are all hoping to be elected in May, so will all hold the same views on a number of subjects. Please make them divisive! We hope to see you in P/T/006, at the earlier time of 4:45!

We will of course be having our traditional committee and curry afterwards. D/104 at 6:15 (or later if the event overruns) for the committee, Garden of India later on for the curry.
