Continue with what had already been a busy week for the Society, the York Tories presented an evening with our very own local Member of Parliament – Julian Sturdy. The University falls into the constituency of York Outer, the seat Julian has held since 2010 and worked tirelessly for over the past four and a half years.
He joined us in the wake of the news that two York Councillors from the ruling Labour administration defected to independents – taking the City of York Council into no overall control. Cllr Chris Steward, York Conservative Group Leader also joined us.
