The glitz and glamour of Hollywood descended on The University of York on Wednesday as the York Tories held a movie and free pizza night. More than 20 members attended gorging themselves on a selection of £200 worth of pizza while enjoying Roman Polanski’s ‘The Ghost’ starring Pierce Brosnan as Tony Blair…. I mean a fictional civil liberties-hating former British Prime Minister and Ewan McGregor as the man tasked with ghost writing his memoirs.

Twists and turns and pizza stained shirts ensued with everyone enjoying a relaxed evening that helped the bank balance stretch ever closer to the end of term. Highlights included the covert SAS-style operation in order to get the pizza passed the ever vigilant porters and our Honorary Vice-President Tristan Griffan turning up, surrounded by members with bags of beer bottles, with his recently nuked Spaghetti Carbonara ready meal in hand. With that everyone has had their free Dominoes supply until Autumn Term of next year – we hope to see you again for another political blockbuster, fantastic company and of course free food!
