On 24th October, the York Tories held their second debate of the year – “TH supports the creation of a British Bill of Rights”.
Speaking for the motion was Charlie Reddin, one of our long-standing and most distinguished members, seconded by one of our hardest working campaigners Oliver Wilson. Speaking against the motion was Internal Vice-Chairman Harry Wilson, seconded by James Leake, one of our newest members.
The debate was well attended if slightly skewed. The debate offered a broad and passionate exchange of views from both sides of the debate. Also included throughout the night was an insight into British history offered by certain members studying history. After which a vote was held. followed by the traditional Drinks in D-bar and Garden of India.
