Some of the debate attendees with Nigel Adams MP, in the Hub.
On Friday 2nd December, the Association hosted Nigel Adams MP, who gave us an excellent talk on his time as an MP, before a good question and answer session preceded a large delegation setting out for Ask, with Mr Adams himself. The meeting was fairly well attended, with 33 drawn to the new trial room in the Ron Cooke Hub by the lure of Toryism and abundant free food and drink. Anecdotes on cross party football and the time Bill Gates couldn’t get his laptop to work when giving a presentation to MPs featured alongside more sober material on an interesting and entertaining evening.
The 2011 committee at its last event, bar the Ball, with Tom Byrne replaced by Nigel Adams MP – a good swap?
After that, the Guy Fawkes pub and Blue Fly featured on the amble back home, as members reflected on Mr Adams’ advice, especially about avoiding politics! We would like to thank Nigel for his time and hope attendees had a memorable evening.
