On Wednesday 19th November we will be holding our AGM and Committee Elections – the perfect opportunity for you to get involved with the largest political society at the University of York and one of the most active Conservative societies in the country.
Whether it’s socials, speakers or social media – there is a position on our Committee for you. Subject to constitutional amendments, the following roles will be available:
– External Vice-Chairman (EVC)
– Internal Vice-Chairman (IVC)
– Publicity and Social Media Officer
– Campaigns Officer
– Events Officer
– Computing Officer
– Ordinary Officer (x3)
Speech lengths are limited to:
Chairman: 5 mins
EVC, IVC, Treasurer and Secretary: 3 mins
All Remaining Roles: 2 mins
The definitions and remit of the roles can be found at Part VII of the Constitution.
Reports will be given by current members of committee about the past year, and a financial report from the Treasurer will be submitted for approval. This will be followed by a re-ratifying or an amending of the Association’s Constitution.
Elections will also take place for Honorary President and Honorary Vice-Presidents.
Once our 2014/15 Committee have been elected, and all other formalities dispensed with, we’ll be heading to The Garden of India Curry House for one of the highlights of the year – the Chairman-Elect’s Phall
You MUST be a paid member of the York Tories to stand and/or vote. If you are unsure of your paid membership, please ask me and I will check for you.
The deadline for paying will be 12PM (MIDDAY) on Wednesday 19th November.
